Steam Distillation

When a mixture of two immiscible liquids is heated while being to expose to the surface of each liquid to the vapor phase, each constituent independently exerts its own vapor pressure as a function of temperature as if the other constituent were not present. Consequently, the vapor pressure of the whole system increases. Boiling begins when the sum of the vapour pressures of the two immiscible liquids just exceeds the atmospheric pressure. In this way, many organic compounds insoluble in water can be purified at a temperature well below the point at which decomposition occurs.

The Distillation Plants are engineered to give excellent results and perform hassle free operations for years. Their design is based on the particular type of Raw-material that is to be distilled. The Process technology and engineering design ensure consistency and optimum yield of the best quality of oil.
Essential Oil Distillation is done in different ways depending upon the type of raw-material. It is done either by Steam distillation method or hydro-distillation method. Our Plants have been supplied for widest range of oils.

Applications Of Steam Distillation

Steam Distillation is majorly used in extraction of Essential oils for Perfumery and Pharmaceutical Purpose. In this process, steam is passed through the plant material containing the desired oil. It is used in synthesizing of complex organic compounds too. Lavender and Myrrh oil are obtained at industrial scale using this method. Apart from that, Steam Distillation processes is also used in petroleum industries & in the production of consumer food products.
